[attr="class","field"]Eli showed up on the doorstep of the Yggdmillenia family like a lost cat. He could only say that his mother had told him to go to them if she was ever caught, and so that’s just what he’d done. Getting any further details out of him was essentially impossible, but anyone who saw him could tell nothing good had happened. Even after years of living within the Yggdmillenia ranks, he still refuses to open up.

Eli lived his whole life with his mother, Prisca Roth, never having met his father. His mother was a rather ambitious magus in her own right, though she came from a very young family line. It wasn’t until she discovered a way to multiply her own magic circuits that they even registered on the Association’s radar. Prisca’s family line had started only with her great grandmother, and so naturally their level and clarity of magic circuits was miniscule by the Association’s standards. For reasons Eli never came to know, his mother became obsessed with understanding the how and why of magic circuits. After she successfully doubled her own count, she received a Sealing Designation, and thus the sudden transient lifestyle began. One day when he was five, his mother packed him and all their things up, and from that day on they simply traveled from place to place. He spent most of his childhood in various vehicles, or walking for miles, and never spent longer than six months in one place. Prisca performed hundreds of unsanctioned circuit extractions upon any and all magus she could find and overpower, generally people who didn’t even realize they had circuits to begin with. She also practiced re-implanting them in her ‘patients’, and eventually branched out into attempts at implanting one magus’ circuits into another person. While she had a unique constitution that had allowed her to perform a similar feat on herself, she could not seem to get the circuit level to go above the doubled amount she had first achieved. Over the years she continued to make attempts on herself in between her ‘surgeries’ on others, and once Eli’s own circuits activated, she included him in her trials.

He became not only her precious heir, but also her greatest guinea pig. She never let him leave her side, becoming more constant than even his own shadow. From the age of ten he was present for every surgery, every attempt, both on herself and her victims, and had no say in the procedures done to him as well. All the while, the pressure of being hunted ate away at Prisca, causing her to evolve into an ever more nervous, paranoid person. At some point, she seemed to sense the end was nearing, and so she began to give Eli specific instructions on where to go and who to seek out if ever she were captured. Though even by then, in his teens, Eli wasn’t entirely sure who was chasing them or what they wanted, he obeyed. If nothing else, he was a very obedient child, and on the day those mysterious ‘pursuers’ caught up with them he did as he was told. Though he‘d never before been away from his mother for longer than a bathroom break, he turned and ran and never saw her again.

Thus he ended up at Yggdmillenia, like a stray, distraught and broken. Though he refuses to say much, and doesn‘t actually know a lot of the details anyway, anybody with an overabundant curiosity could likely dig up info on Prisca Roth.

[attr="class","field"]Eli definitely has a few screws loose, a few lost marbles, a couple pieces short of a full set. Its hard to say if he was always going to become like that, or if his bizarre upbringing is what ultimately caused it. He doesn’t do real well with being left completely alone, having never really experienced it before, and so he suffers anxiety attacks whenever it happens. This often leads him to simply shadow after others, not wanting to be completely alone, even if he’s not actually involved with any of them, though he is a notoriously slow walker and is often left behind. When he finds he has free time and nobody is around, he’ll go wander in crowded areas, though this always leads to him getting lost and calling someone from Yggdmillenia (in tears) so they will come and pick him up. He is also prone to talking to himself, partly due to the fact he hears voices - often he’s responding to them, or asking them questions, or he ‘translates’ them for others.

Though definitely unsettled, Eli gives off the impression of being completely harmless. It’s all but impossible to make him angry, and he generally lives life in a haze of confusion or lost in his own thoughts, whatever they may be. He’s rather willing to talk about himself though, and seems very interested in making friends. He also tends to show concern over people’s choices and actions, and is nothing if not brutally honest. He believes in karma, as well as in an afterlife, though he believes everyone will get there whether they were bad or not. Ultimately, he’s a little bit like a puppy, following people around and happily obeying orders given by those he likes or trusts.

• He doesn‘t use a wallet or wear a watch, but he always carries a ‘lucky item’ around, and it changes frequently.
• Due to his unstable childhood, he habitually wears his clothing until it’s falling apart and is absolutely the least picky person when it comes to food.
• Collects ticket stubs, buttons, and postcards, and also carries a camera around in order to take pictures of anything and everything.
• Loves scrap booking, cross-stitching, jigsaw puzzles, and memorizing lists and useless information.
• He hums while brushing his teeth, and habitually goes to bed after 4 am and sleeps roughly three hours before waking again.
• He would like to join a book club, and get himself at least one penpal.

• FIREARMS - Though he’s never had to shoot someone before, he does know how to use a gun. His mother taught him in her growing paranoia, and he’s had a fair bit of practice against cans and other impromptu targets.
• ELEVATED PRANA - His mother used him for many an experiment, and he has about quadruple the number of magic circuits he started with. They are odd in that they seem to produce, and can handle, more prana than most magus could ever hope for. On the downside, the majority of them are concentrated in his arms (which are scarred very badly from repeated surgeries), making them an obvious target.
• ROTH CREST - The Roth crest is more of an inherited booster to his own ability to assimilate so many foreign circuits into his body. He technically knows how to perform the operation, and he has access to all the spells his mom created to help in her research, but it‘s uncertain whether or not he really understands it. Not only that, but it’d take a brave (or stupid) person to want Eli to attempt surgery on them.
• NO MAGUS TRAINING - Other than having watched his mom work on herself and others, Eli was never taught any proper spellwork. He cannot cast a single spell. Should someone endeavor to teach him some, he could probably memorize it perfectly without too much effort. However, his circuits are powerful yet crude, and he lacks any real control over his overabundant prana. He’d be useful for a few explosive spells that require a rush of prana, before he’d become exhausted and need to rest.
