The majutsushigoroshi or the "Magus Killer" Emiya Kiritisugu is the fifth generation of the Emiya lineage who researched on time manipulation. His father's research earned him the Sealing Designation, forcing them to move from place to place around the world to escape the grasp of the Mage's Association. The circumstances had led to his mother's death shortly after Kiritsugu's birth.

Kiritsugu knew what a normal, happy childhood was. After they settled down in a fishing island in the Philippines, it was the only life Kiritsugu knew. There was a girl he liked, friends he dived cliffs with, a dream he fantasized. "What kind of adult do you want to become, Kerry?" Shirley had asked him. A hero, he answered.

His father's research on Dead Apostles was an evil that spurt like flowing lava from volcano. It swallowed Shirley, his friends, everyone and everything in the island. Only Shirley believed in Kiritsugu's father and Kiritsugu thought his father was a good man. No, it was not his father who had triggered it, but whose work was it that killed Shirley?

Executors marched and killed all that remained in the island and the mages burned all evidence. Kiritsugu killed his father. A freelancer magus, Natalia, who happened to be in the area took him in and led him around the corrupt and ugly world across battlefields. He became Natalia's assistant and, eventually, equal.

Kiritsugu realized that it was impossible to do justice and save everyone. This ultimatum came when he chose to sacrifice Natalia during a mission that risked repeating the tragedy in Alimango Island if he allowed Natalia's plane to land. He shot the plane down along with the woman he had come to know as a mother.

Kiritsugu continued his war for justice. In one battlefield, he found a child soldier, took her in, and gave her the name Maiya. He trained her like how Natalia trained him except Maiya never betrayed him. She was effectively an extra pair of limb for Kiritusugu.

Ten years before the Holy Grail War, a person from the Mage's Association contacted Kiritsugu and asked him to infiltrate the Yggdmillenia household, suspicious of their motives. When Kiritsugu learned about the Grail, he took the opportunity to have it for his own. He agreed, and with his background, he was able to become a part of Yggdmillenia. Acting as a double agent to the Ygddmillenia's knowledge, he provided useful information from within the Mage's Association.

Kiritsugu adjusted to the Yggdmillenia and became a part of their family. He cared for them and treated them with familiarity. But he knew he was going to have to sacrifice all of them too someday.

The end justifies the means. It started off as a bitter lesson. There's no way to save everyone, no way to keep his hands clean. The only thing he could do was to make sure it was worth it in the end. Afterwards, Kiritsugu started to find sadistic satisfaction in it. It felt good tricking the villain into committing suicide, even though it involved wiping out his entire family. He numbed his heart to the innocent child he had to kill and relished at the evil he destroyed.

A man of excuses. In all the insanity he had been through, Kiritsugu turned to excuses. He constantly lied to himself, constantly convinced himself. "This is for the greater good," he kept telling, justifying. It's his only solace.

A monster. As a mercenary for hire, Kiritsugu lived to kill in cold blood. No evidence, no holding back. He wasn't going to let evil escape. The consequences are trivial. He is smart and efficient. As a magus, he has no pride.

Justice. Kiritsugu isn't a serial killer....maybe. He does not kill for money but for justice. His methods are far from humane. Though he seems detached on the outside, it does destroy Kiritsugu little by little on inside. So no surprise with how he's ended up...

Protective. If there's any to protect. Unfortunately, Kiritsugu treats his emotions secondary. He will sacrifice everything for the greater good, for the millions of strangers who wouldn't give a shit.

Idealistic. Oh, he knows reality. He's been through that. Yet Kiritsugu's very existence centres around a naive ideal. He seems to believe continuing on his path will somehow put an end to the conflicts and evils of the world. For thirty years, he had not stop pursuing that path.

Selfless. What kind of man drives himself to the most dangerous places in the world and sacrifices his own self for the concept of 'hero'? There's something very wrong and twisted about Kiritsugu. He's a selfless man who, for the past thirty years, have not lived for his own sake.

[attr="class","blackheading"]COMBAT
  • Firearms and espionage - Guns, explosives, spy stuffs. You name it. A killer, an assassin, a mercenary. Kiritsugu is a shame to all mages.

Thompson Contender. It is a powerful weapon that can easily puncture bulletproof vests and kill large animals in a single shot. But its true use is for his Origin Bullets, which can cripple living creatures fired upon. From wikia: "There are no wounds or bleeding upon the bullet making contact, but the targeted area or body part appears to be suffering from necrosis. While it seems to have healed properly on the surface, the nerves and capillaries will never regenerate properly and the original function will be forever lost."

The bullets were made from his ribs. Yeah. EX childhood.
  • Emiya Crest. Kiritsugu did not inherit the crest properly. The research was confiscated by the Association but Natalia managed to convince them to give a part of the crest to Kiritsugu. Kiritsugu developed the Emiya crest for combat methods.

Innate Time Control. A bounded field limited only to Kiritsugu. He can slow or quicken time within the bounded field. The stress to Kiritsugu is immense that it's almost suicidal.
Time Alter. The chant for speeding up. Accel is for speeding up and Stagnate for slowing. Can indicate how fast or slow he wants it to be. Release Alter will stop the spell.
  • Maiya. Kiritsugu's assistant. The two of them have been in contact with each other. Maiya has been invaluable for the past ten years for his job as a triple agent.
  • Age. He's old so he's not as fast or as tough as used to be. He needed to stop smoking too. Trying.
