One of the older, well-known magus families, the Gabel are known for their specialization in elemental magic. In the Gabel family, the technique of element fusion is passed down from generation to generation - constantly improving, constantly changing. It is a technique that brought about their rise to fame, and - believed to be - one that will continue to propel them to even greater heights.

Above all, the Gabel family emphasizes pride. To bear the family crest means living up to the name, furthering their recognition by whatever means necessary - heroics, an advancement in research, each member of the family is expected to have at least one achievement carved into their legacy. The heirs are cultured towards competitiveness, taught to seek the primal thrill of winning. Perhaps they are simply pawns to their elders, but those born under the Gabel name throw themselves into conflict of their own will, each seeking to come out on top to honor the family name.

Teele is raised according to these expectations, to love the competition, to seek fame and recognition in the form of greatness and victory. Following a rather disgraceful line(his father had temporarily strayed from elemental fusion to pursue enhancement of the individual elements), he is also expected to redeem what his predecessors had corrupted, wipe the blemish clean from the Gabel name. As such, when the war begins, Teele sees nothing but a sea of infinite possibilities and opportunities, ones he doesn't intend to let slip through his fingers.

The Gabels are one of the first to answer the call. Teele plans not to be the first to fall, rather, the last one standing.

PRIDEFUL. one of the defining attributes of the Gabel family, Teele's pride was bred and raised into him. he uses achievements and great feats in order to keep this pride afloat, scorning the lesser-known mages who won't/can't bother to do the same.

COMPETITIVE. there's no place for runner-ups and second places in the world. incredibly goal oriented, Teele pours every ounce of effort towards being the best at everything and anything - perfection or nothing. after all, to bear the Gabel crest means to uphold legacies of past, present and futures to come. being competitive is the only way to the top without shattering pride in the process.

RUTHLESS. operating on emotions is foolish. to avoid staining the family name, Teele views his duties as above all else. any obstacles will be cut down, no questions asked. forming attachments - of any sort - is out of the question.

INSECURE. being raised in a household that demanded nothing short of perfection takes its toll once in awhile. there's nothing worse for Teele than staining his family name with his actions - as a result, he's constantly plagued with the nervous anxieties of 'maybe' and 'what-ifs' that whisper predictions of his downfall.

DISPASSIONATE. as insecure as he may be, teele's sense of duty overrides the potential it has to take over who he is. living up to the Gabel legacy keeps him rooted to the whichever side the Mages' association chooses, and winning is only a must if but to ingrain his own name down in history. every action he takes is logic-based - whether this is a result of insecurity or sense of duty is unknown.

HOLLOW. duty is the one buoy that keeps him afloat. though it's a large buoy, there are times when teele craves something more. Not knowing what that is haunts him when he least expects it.

  • ELEMENTAL AFFINITY - the Gabel's specialty lie in their proficiency with elemental magic - specifically, the four natural elements of fire, water, earth and air. channeling their prana into these elements allows for manipulation at will.
  • GABEL CREST - a technique created by one of teele's ancestors, element fusion combines two - or more - natural elements in order to manipulate the weather. this ranges from changing rain to shine(and vice versa) to triggering natural disasters, but teele is limited in both range and intensity as they relate to prana. as the catastrophic level goes up, so does prana cost. generations of perfecting a single technique are stored in the gabel crest, allowing him to control it with ease.
  • HEALING - using natural aspects such as sunlight and water, teele can heal himself and others. it's a very circumstantial technique that fluctuates in power based on how strong the surrounding environment is.
  • PHYSICAL ENHANCEMENTS - by cloaking himself with certain elements, teele is able to enhance his speed and durability for a period of time. physically taxing, it requires the knowledge of his own limitations - if teele isn't careful, he could end up burning out altogether.
  • ELEMENTAL PROJECTION - the ability to fire elements as projectiles stemmed from the desire to create a self-defense technique, or so teele is told. it costs little prana if he utilizes the natural elements already around him, but creating elements is trickier, and must be managed properly.
  • MAGIC CIRCUITS - above average, but not excellent. among the Gabel before him, teele's magic circuits are considered poor.
  • WITH GREAT POWER - comes equal prana cost. all of teele's techniques have varying intensities that directly relate to how much prana is needed to cast them. between the prana going towards his servant and maintaining his own techniques, managing his limits is a necessity, lest he want to deal with the consequences afterwards.
  • LIMITATIONS - affinity towards natural elements means obtaining them in the same fashion. if there is none of the element present, he is unable to use it for his techniques. however, being invisible doesn't necessarily equate to not existing. for example, water can be obtained from the soil or air, but quantity may vary depending on how dry the ground is/how clean the air is. heat from the atmosphere can generate fire, but not so much in cold weather. teele can't create elements from nothing - once they've been exhausted from the environment, they're gone until nature herself recovers.
  • SEMI-OFFENSIVE SUPPORT - in battle, he can hold his own, but when it comes to support, teele is - more often than not - unable to move from one spot until the spell is finished. he has very poor defensive capabilities.
