Wu descended from a line of military men and architects, clearly taking on the former more. He was born in the Wu's homeland, Qi, but his father, seeking better places to reap military achievements, left for the road. Wu travelled with his father until they settled for the state of Qin. Wu constantly sought attention to prove his physical strength. He'd set up arm-wrestling booths in the marketplace and incline challengers to have a taste of "China's strongest man."

During his childhood, Wu also befriended the prince of Chu, Lord Changping, serving as a political hostage at that time but who would later become one of Qin's prized general, strategist, and - in 223 BC - traitor. During the invasion of Chu, Wu was supposed to lead the army with General Li Xin but he was replaced by his son, General Meng Tian. After the failure of the invasion because of Lord Changping's rebellion, Wu joined General Wang Jian, who led the second attack. Wu confronted his former friend and killed him with his very hands.

Wu was a general known for his brute strength unlike his lax grandfather and his tactical sons. He foresaw that Tian would become the greatest general in the Meng family to be recognized by the entirety of China and for generations to come.

[attr="class","redheading"]PERSONALITY
He isn't a man who's all brawn and no brains, but Meng Wu is a very stubborn man. He likes sticking to his preference and going all brawn as a firm believer that strategists are for the weak regardless of the obvious traps that awaited him. Thanks to his sons' influence though, he managed to take a step back and be calm for a second.

Wu is extremely proud and though one easily surmises that he must take gratification in fighting, there's no sure way of telling from his deep, burrowing, bushy brows, wide flaring nostrils, and stone-carved scowl. He has a short temper to match the look. When angered, he is silent, but looking like he's about to explode in any second. Somehow, he can dig an even deeper scowl in his face.

While proud, Wu is not a sore loser. He can respect others who prove their worth. He is very proud of his sons, but only because they have proven themselves to be great men. Power is everything to Wu. All his life, he's aimed and lived for becoming stronger.

As such, he is not a very worthwhile father or friend. He puts his complete trust into his family and friends, but fails to see that they are not as zealous of their own abilities as he is with his own. Wu regrets some of his shortcomings, but chances are, he'll just drink and take it out on the battlefield than mull on them.

[attr="class","blackheading"]COMBAT
  • One of Caster of Black's familiars. Without Caster's prana, he would return to clay and be vulnerable.
  • Everything about Wu - clothes, weapons, hair - is a Noble Phantasm. The inanimate materials are linked to him spiritually, allowing the prana from Caster to flow into them and give them their physical properties. They can't be destroyed by ordinary weapons and methods.
  • He fights with a large mace and smashes things around. That's pretty much it.
