teresia was born as the second and only child of the klausner family. her sister passed away two years before she was born, but in the greater scheme of things, the death did not weigh upon her upbringing and the way she saw life.

teresia's moment in the limelight did not arrive until the day she stepped into college. the hostel she lived in was infamous for being haunted. driven by a desire to find out the truth, and despite discouraging statements from her classmates who did not wish her to die a gory death, teresia proceeded with her investigation of the supernatural. she found a scientific correlation between the incidents and and scientific phenomenons -- and from there, it all started.

fame came swiftly for teresia as she continued her research of debunking certain supernatural occurrences. however, a meeting with a man who was more than he seemed posed an unsolvable riddle to teresia. that man was none other than her husband, luca bárány.

and like the uninitiated heroine of a storybook, she started to learn about the world of the magus. what she had thought was scientifically proven had a different explanation to it ("intriguing!") and what was impossible had became possible with concepts such as prana and noble phantasms ("unheard of!") -- having gained a new insight of the world, teresia started a pursuit of knowledge in a completely new field.

luca's leaving for taixuan was met with disagreement from teresia's part -- mainly because he discouraged her from going. she eventually relented, and watched him leave with csilla. but as they say: curiosity may have killed the cat, but it was satisfaction that brought it back; spurred by the desire to gain first-hand knowledge of the war, teresia left for taixuan a day after her husband did.

[attr="class","redheading"]PERSONALITY
haughty and airy, teresia does not appear as an approachable person. she can be snappish, and short-tempered towards people who are less knowledgeable, or display ignorance in the face of presented facts and figures. she does not have the time for those who cannot offer her new information, or pique her curiosity.

all these years of spending time alone in her office or in the library studying has rubbed off on her. she prefers the quiet, and instances where she can focus. she shines in one-on-one conversations; in groups, she falls silent and shies away to the back of the crowd.

teresia does not smile often. her smiles are often small, fleeting, and reserved for those whose company she truly appreciates.

she is not entirely bookish, however. her composed, terse exterior can quickly melt away, allowing her childlike curiosity to surface. it surprises most people to see her animatedly discussing foreign topics, with vivid gestures and an interested gleam in her eye that does not befit a renowned academic known for her persistence and methodical ways.

[attr="class","blackheading"]COMBAT
  • DREAMCATCHER. it's actually a tattoo on the back of her neck, extending down to her shoulder blades. it is not usually seen due to her preference of wearing collared outfits. her husband inked it into her to commemorate their engagement.

    a concoction of powdered gemstones, crushed scarabs and the first tears of our lady lourdes in rockingham, australia allowed teresia's husband to bind the final ingredient - her own hair - into the ink, which was then tattooed into her skin.

    Conversion. the tattoo converts and stores prana from the environment, allowing teresia to use them for her incantations. it stores prana, and replenishes 5 units of prana every day to a maximum of 30.
  • SUSUK. they say that by implanting small objects with mystical properties under one's skin, one will be able to gain a myriad of benefits. these implants are usually intended to protect against ailments, injury and accidents -- but just what they do exactly may come with surprises for the host. for one: death to the host is often drawn-out and painful.

    Implanting. teresia can implant susuk into someone, provided she has the appropriate materials to do so. it's usually painless. don't worry.

    Activation. using specific incantations, she then activates the susuk.

    Removal. she removes them. sometimes the implant may not want to leave the host body, but she can forcibly remove it with proper incantations. this usually leaves side effects on the user from a lack of susuk. think of it like quitting something cold turkey. force removals really drain the prana from her tattoo and often leaves her exhausted.

Hi red long time no rp, though before Teresia's in, there's a few things we wanted to know.

1. What can Teresia do with her 5 units of prana? We're kind of assuming that it powers her Susuk?

2. Can we get a little more about Susuk? Can it protect against grievous injury? Just a little more clarification would help a bunch.

3. Also if Susuk is capable of stronger effects, what sort of materials would have to be used?

1. incantations need prana, right? she uses it to activate susuk, or forcibly remove susuk from a host.

2. in traditional rpg terms, susuk acts like a buff, but with drawbacks to the user. susuk changes the way someone or something is perceived -- traditionally, it is used by women to make themselves appear more beautiful, or charming to someone; the drawback is basically like love potions from harry potter. the other party isn't really in love with you. they're under a charm.

i wouldn't say it protects against grievous injury. "protect against ailments, injury and accidents" -- more or less like, dude you just fell down and twisted your ankle, but at least you didn't get run over by that car. you get me?

but for ailments, yeah. you'd probably be able to recover normally from poisons and stuff, at some other cost. probably the inability to ingest certain foods so you don't break the susuk's spell.

3. common materials used are gold, diamonds or needles. sometimes organic materials are used, depending on the properties needed. idk what kind of stronger effects you're talking about, actually -- but usually the implants are tiny items made from elements with mythical properties. so it'd depend on what properties you want it to have on the host.
