BACKGROUND
He is the hero of the oldest known epic of the English language, a Norse king who killed both monster and foe in battle, committed great deeds of strength and power, and crushed his enemies before him without mercy. His adventures start from a young age, Beowulf testing himself against other youths and eventually assembling his own band of followers, traveling around the Baltic Sea with them in tow to fight both men and monster alike. Without question, Beowulf proved his immense strength and tactical abilities in battle after battle, earning a well deserved reputation. That is why King Hrothgar, lord of the Danes, accepted him into his hall. The monster Grendel, killer of champion after champion, was slain by the young warrior after a climactic battle, his arm torn from his body and mounted above the door.

Then Grendel's mother popped by, slaughtered all the party guests, and Beowulf dove into her cave, killing her and dragging the head of Grendel up with him. These two great monsters slain, Beowulf was sent from the hall of the Good King Hrothgar, his boat loaded with treasures and promises of friendship.

Returning to Geatland, Beowulf fought many battles on behalf of his king, and upon the old king's death, his ascension to the throne was unquestionable. For many years, he ruled as a just and fair king, until 50 years after his victory over Grendel. A dragon, angered by the theft of a cup from it's horde, threatened destruction upon his lands. Old, wise, and knowing this would be his final battle, Beowulf once again donned his mail and helm, drew his sword, and stood alone against the beast, his great strength in the end proving his undoing. His old and trusted blade, a companion through countless battles, snapped, his strength finally proving too much for it, and in that instant, the Dragon struck. Poison managed to seep into the elderly kings body, but even that wasn't enough to stop him. In his greatest feat, he decapitated the beast with a humble seax, before finally succumbing to his wounds from the battle.


PERSONALITY
Loyal, honorable, proud, humble, he seeks the Grail as a matter of repayment for his debt to his loyal band of followers, and his debt to the kingdom of the Geats.

COMBAT
If Beowulf has one weakness, it's his overwhelming strength. Fighting an opponent stronger than he is, is difficult for him. Even with that problem though, he is a fearsome opponent. Shield, sword, axe, bow, and the spear are his tools of the trade, his archery skills however ignored as a Saber in favor of his blade skills. Beowulf fights like his namesake, headstrong and patient, taking his opponent down in either a savage flurry of blows, or a slow and methodical hunt of weakness. To put your hand in the wolf's maw is to see it bitten off, and his fighting style is surprisingly cautious, leaving no opening that cannot be accounted for or used to his advantage.

Class Skills: 
Magic Resistance (C): While a low level befitting the Saber class, Beowulf's magical resistance was never truly tested by opponents he faced.

Abilities: 

Battle Continuation (C): Ability to never give up until the battle is won. The user can ignore grievous wound penalties as long as victory is still able to be achieved. 

Bravery (A+): Grants extreme mental resistance to the effects of fear, imminent death, and mental manipulation. Provides a massive increase to unarmed skill. Loathe to run away and brave enough to face the greatest terrors of his age with nothing but his bare hands, Beowulf learned to defeat monsters and foes by exploiting his greatest weapon - his massive strength. Armor didn't matter when a smack from a fist or shield could crack the bone underneath. 

Charisma: (C) Capable of ruling a small realm or large army without issue.

NOBLE PHANTASMS:

Slayer of Monsters - The Triumph of Humanity (C+): Beowulf's story and life embody and tell of victory after victory of a man over unnatural creatures. All of his attacks rank up in parameters by one (A B to an A for example) against any opponent possessing demonic, bestial, or draconic traits or origins. His own defenses are boosted against attack by these foes as well, ranking them down by one as his nature as a killer of monsters shields him from their attempts at harming him. 

Naegling: Nail of the War Wolf (C) A trusted family relic of King Hrothgar, Naegling served Beowulf until the end, its destruction leading to his own. The blade, while activated limits beowulf's strength to C, though increasing his endurance by a rank. However the true strength of naegling is in its one shot attack when broken, creating the equivalent of an A+ rank attack, as Beowulf's own mighty strength forces power through the runemarked blade in an attack that stunned even one of the mightest of dragons

Hrunting: Tooth of the War Wolf (B+): A disliked blade, given to Beowulf by an enemy with the knowledge it would not help against his true foe. Cast aside in the heat of battle, it still returned to him after, his honor leaving him no choice but to keep the gift despite its initial failure. Hrunting had proved itself to its newest wielder earlier in its slaughter of sea serpents, and after its one failing, redoubled its efforts to please its master. The uncanny accuracy of Hrunting changed into a full fledged inability to miss, the blade always somehow, no matter the angle of the swing or the size of the target, will strike true. It's ability is similar to Gae Bolg's, striking its target once activated unless the target succeeds at a Luck check. Hrunting fits extremely well into Beowulf's style of vicious attack and counter attack, but nothing but a command seal or desperation will force him into using it once more.
