While many claim Helen was the lady who launched a thousand ships, the man who set the events of the Trojan War was an unassuming sheep herder, who happened to be son of the King of Troy. Zeus, chief among the gods, foisted the responsibility for judgment of a beauty contest between Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite, not an enviable position by any man, for the ownership of the Apple of Discord, an item that incited the pride and jealousy of beings far older and more powerful than any human could hope to be.

So he said the only thing he honestly could. “You are all beautiful! I couldn't possibly decide between you!” Such an answer was perfectly honest, he loved beauty and was fair in all his dealings, there was no way he could decide between the divine beauties he was faced with. None of the goddesses could accept this judgment, and the beauty contest became a bribing contest.

Skill and wisdom in battle, the gifts that Athena offered, were worthless to him. He wasn't a fighter, he never wanted to see a battle, let alone fight in one. Ownership of Asia and Europe was beyond his thinking as well. He had his country, and was perfectly satisfied with it. Troy was rich, bolstered by trade with the rest of the world, and he never wanted anything more than a simple, easy life lived in peace.

Aphrodite's gift though...that was speaking his language. How could he turn down the love of the most beautiful woman on Earth? A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do, and he made his answer known. Aphrodite won the apple, and with it, he earned the everlasting favor of the goddess...and the emnity of the other two.

If he'd have known what the strings attached to that boon was, he'd probably have gone with Hera's gift instead. It turns out, as Aphrodite sheepishly explained, that the “most beautiful woman in the world.” just happened to be married to the King of Sparta. After he'd recovered from the panic attack that news set in, Aphrodite promised him his support throughout what would come, and assured him that he, and his newfound love, would be fine.

This didn't happen. As Helen was brought to Troy, war was sparked. Whether it was Helen or the riches of Troy that caused countries to rush to Sparta's side, the end result was the same. With the blessings of both Aphrodite and Apollo, he managed to take down heroes that should have easily overwhelmed the upstart young sheepherder prince, his bow finding the hero Achilles' weakness, gaining revenge for his slain brother. But eventually, he was bested by Philoctetes, and died happilly, surrounded by both Aphrodite and Helen on a mountainside away from the city.

[attr="class","redheading"]PERSONALITY
Paris is an idiot. He's a chronic womanizer, and surprisingly skilled at it even before he had the blessing of Aphrodite on his side, able to charm even the elusive nymphs of legend. He can be easily distracted when there are no clear and present threats to his life, and he does not let a chance to chat up a pretty face go to waste easily.

Despite his dislike of fighting, he tends to react with a mixture of awe and jealousy towards those who are truly skilled in combat, with the most common target of that feeling in life being his older brother, Hector. His easy life leading sheep before rejoining the Trojan court made him less inclined to fighting in a culture that promoted and expected martial skill and heroism in leaders, and his inability to hold that standard up was a hurt he felt, but mostly kept distracted and hidden.

He does not enjoy fighting, much preferring safer activities, such as the aforementioned skirt-chasing, cattle herding, hunting, and playing music. He has a reputation of a bit of a coward, preferring to attack from the sidelines or from range, and generally knows better than to mix things up with the best of them. He's not boastful, he never tries to paint himself as anything more than he is, though the divine help he tends to attract to him makes him more confident than he honestly deserves to be.
[attr="class","field"]
[attr="class","blackheading"]COMBAT
Paris is a trickster, focusing on trying to aim for weaknesses and using his absurdly high Luck and further divine intervention on top of that to make miracles happen. He's not as completely hopeless as he makes himself out to be, but he can't match the raw destructive power that many Heroic Spirits can dish out.

  • [attr="class","stat"]APPLE OF DISCORD
    ▬ ▬ ▬ ▬ ▬ A
    The Prize that Gods Covet
    ANTI-UNIT
    MAX TARGET : 20 people

    The apple thrown at the wedding ceremony of Peleus and Thetis, attended by the majority of the Greek Pantheon, and caused the ceremony to be completely thrown aside for a feud between three of the most prominent goddesses present. Similarly, this Noble Phantasm sows discord and ill feelings among whoever lays eyes on it, even the most humble of men or women become besotted with the item, and are willing to fight for it. Exerts a mind altering magic of higher power than a Greater Ritual.
  • [attr="class","stat"]REVELATION OF THE DIVINE
    ▬ ▬ ▬ ▬ ▬ A
    This Noble Phantasm is a crystallization of Paris' status as a supernatural locus of divine intervention, as well as an extension of Aphrodite's promise to keep him safe during the fulfillment of her promise of him. The gift that allowed him to be a hero, it allowed him to fight and win against legendary heroes he had no business sharing the battlefield with, such as Achilles and Diomedes. It allows him to fight as an equal against other Heroic Spirits who would otherwise completely outmatch him.

    He is able to miraculously avoid blows that could be fatal, and strike at weaknesses he has no business even being able to know about, let alone see. This skill only comes into effect when he is placed in a fight where he is outmatched, and the effect is tied to his Luck stat. If the opponent succeeds in a Luck roll against him, he can be struck as normal.
  • [attr="class","stat"]INDEPENDENT ACTION
    ▬ ▬ D
    Paris is not a very independent person. He generally relies on the presence of others, though seeing his friends and family die in the war of Troy gave him a too little too late crash course in individuality.

    Capable of lasting in the world without an established contract for six hours.
  • [attr="class","stat"]MAGIC RESISTANCE
    ▬ ▬ ▬ C
    Despite his mortal ancestry, he has the consistent protection of Aphrodite, granting him a resistance to most common magic.

    He can cancel spells with a chant below two verses. Cannot defend against Magecraft on the level of High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals.
  • [attr="class","stat"]PRESENCE CONCEALMENT
    ▬ ▬ D
    In addition to the divine aid of the gods, Paris relied on his ability to hide his presence to avoid being destroyed by the powerhouses present in the Trojan War.

    Masks his presence as a Heroic Spirit, but cannot fully hide his presence. Suitable for spying, but ineffective against Magi when in a place without a reason for a human to be present.
  • [attr="class","stat"]WISDOM FROM THE GODS
    ▬ ▬ ▬ C
    Despite his complete and total lack of common sense, his connections to the divine occassionally give him deeper insight into situations than he would have been able to come up with himself under any circumstance.

    Manifests as a feeling or hunch similar to ranks in Eye of the Mind (False) or Instinct, that allows him to receive divine help in combat as to what he should or shouldn't do in order to win.
  • [attr="class","stat"]DISENGAGE
    ▬ ▬ ▬ ▬ B
    Paris has earned the reputation of a coward who avoids the front lines if at all possible, preferring to strike with a bow. The reputation is well deserved, he avoided many fights that would otherwise have been a complete slaughter with his ability to flee.

    Able to reset the battle to the beginning, or completely escape a match. Resets any injuries or other results from an engagement that would be harmful to him.

Hey Smite, welcome to the site! Before we can accept your app though, there are a few things we'd like some clarification on.

1. Optional, but I'd personally like to see a small bit more on Paris' personality.

2. About the Apple of Discord, what spell does it exactly use? Information erasure? Mind control? Etc.?

3. You get three upgrades for your Servant that are split across parameters and skills. Right now, you've used three adjustments in your parameters and three adjustments in your skills instead. You can probably dock luck a bit as long as you've got Revelation of the Divine.

1. I'm not really a big fan on big personality sections. I'll expand it if I have to, but really I'd like for that to develop from how threads go from a very basic start. I did add a little more though.

2. It's mental compulsion similar to control, it essentially works by stirring up intense feelings of both jealousy and greed, centered around the apple. It's not directly forcing you to focus on it, it's more manipulating your emotions to make you inclined to do it yourself.

3. Edited the stats, ended up dropping Luck down as you mentioned.
